Season 10 Episode 50: Intimacy Through Retreats

With Guests: Serena Arora & Kevin McQuillan founders of Swastha Yoga International  and Peace Retreats Costa Rica

Today we talk to Serena Arora and Kevin McQuillan about their retreats for individuals and couples and why they feel the retreats are a great way to reconnect with who you are, along with the types of retreats they host and how retreats work to help build more intimate relationships with self, environment and others.

Before we dive in deep I also want to share information about my 4th book “It’s all about Sex”, available now on Amazon. Please go to our website https://bringingintimacyback.com , sign up for or Intimacy Connections Newsletter and we will send you a free copy of our first book for free!!

When I asked Kevin and Serena about what retreats work so well , it became obvious an intricate piece to all of this is Self-Care, something we speak of a lot on the show. Many of the clients they work with have three things in common that need to be addressed, almos immediately

  1. Dehydration 2. Overwhelm 3. Over tired/Lack of sleep

In actuality, they need to be retaught self-care basics. So How do we know when we need a retreat?

Are you cranky or , as Kevin says “ crusty’?

Are you snapping at others or short tempered?

Are you not eating and sleeping well from stress?

These are all signs it may be time to flip a switch and refill your bucket again and get away fron the squeeze of your everyday life responsibilities, technology and experience space to safely reconnect with self and get to know yourself better.

That is how yoga plays into the daily activities at the retreats as an opportunity each individual can have their own experience discovering an intimacy with oneself, in a safe space within nature, to get quiet, experience a peaceful existence, unwinding, unpacking the pressure of society while existing inan authentic moment supported by tools that allow you to build, grow , show up and connect with nature and others.

Or as Coach Kay sums it all up  the retreats in Nature “have a way of showing you things you often take for granted”, so as couple who take the retreats it becomes an opportunity to speak, be heard and show up through a different receptive place, speaking the same language and getting on the same page.

With different types of retreats to choose from anyone can find one that fits everyone’s  desires from the Peace Retreats ( www.peaceretreatcostarica.com) which are all inclusive to the Yoga Teacher Training retreats that focus on pattern mapping(SwasthaYogaInternational.com)

to the Sweat Lodge style  Retreat , each style offers an impactful experience that will transform people, relationships and lifestyles, putting you and your partner into a flow state.

And Dr. April and Coach Kay retreats for couples too!! Dr April’s retreats offer a space in sunny Florida or a Limited offering in Costa Rica. And Coach Kay , has her springtime, April weekend retreat. So for every situation there is no need to stay stressed out anymore.

There will be a two week break for the Holiday’s so the next episode of Bringing Intimacy Back is January 6th with Ashley Benardi to discuss her book  (https://ashleybernardi.com)
